Residents will know that Mayor Khan has regretfully proceeded with his expansion of ULEZ to include all areas of Greater London. This is a decision I do not support and I would like to assure residents that I will continue to work tirelessly with colleagues locally and in Westminster to get this decision reversed. Statement on the ULEZ Expansion

Today the Mayor of London has extended London’s ULEZ zone to cover Hillingdon and Harrow. I deeply regret that it has come to this and that the Mayor has not listened to residents across outer London who are overwhelmingly against this cash grabbing scheme.

David Simmonds: July 2023 Update

This month, several key pieces of legislation completed their passage through Parliament and three by-elections took place across the country, including in our neighbouring constituency of Uxbridge and South Ruislip. To say it was a busy few weeks is certainly an understatement, but Parliament has now risen for the summer recess.

At the time of writing, we are eagerly preparing for the coronation of King Charles III. Many of my residents in Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner have been decorating their homes, preparing their streets and volunteering as part of the King’s initiative to support the nation’s volunteering sector.

I continue to hear from many of my constituents how the Mayor’s proposals to expand the ULEZ will impact them. I remain deeply concerned about this decision and the lack of consideration that has been given to the views of my constituents and local businesses.

ULEZ Amendment Update

Last night, Members of the House of Lords debated an amendment designed to prevent the Mayor from proceeding with the expansion of ULEZ to our area without the consent of Hillingdon and Harrow.
