Last month, I met with Ishan Visvanath, a 14 year-old constituent, in Westminster, following the return of Parliament. Ishan is passionate about engaging young people more in politics, taking an active role in various youth-led political initiatives. During our meeting, we discussed various topics, including my involvement in politics as a Conservative MP for the constituency. We shared our common goals on the importance of youth voice, including potential strategies and marketing campaigns which could be put in place to encourage more young people to vote, across the UK.
In addition, we spoke about my work as part of the Conservative Environment Network, as well as local work, tackling noise and air pollution in different parts of the borough.
I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting, and hope to work closer with Ishan in the future, to help prioritise the needs of young people in the constituency.
