It was a pleasure to visit the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Harefield last week and especially to meet Honey the Greyhound.
It was fantastic to see the wonderful efforts of staff at the rehoming centre who work so tirelessly to ensure that all of the dogs in their care are incredibly well looked after and was very impressed by the huge range of facilities available to their canine residents.
I was pleased to meet with Richard Moore, Rehoming Centre Manager, to discuss the work of Dogs Trust in protecting animal welfare and progressing key dog welfare issues in Westminster, including puppy smuggling into Britain from Central and Eastern Europe.
I was delighted to learn the number of dogs who have found their forever homes already and that staff are going above and beyond to rehome so many unwanted dogs in Harefield.
I am thankful to the hardworking team at the Dogs Trust for the work they do and for taking time out of their busy day to update me on their efforts and successes.
