Following planning approval earlier this year, work has commenced on the interior of Northwood and Pinner Cottage Hospital.
To mitigate the impact of the development, the approval was subject to legal and binding conditions and the 'Section 106' agreement between NHS Property Services and Hillingdon Council.
However, I understand that attempts were subsequently made by the NHS to renege on this agreement. This would have included the commitment to not allow any existing facilities to be decommissioned until the new one is operational, and to ensure that the medical part is completed before the residential development to safeguard the financial investment that has been made. I know that Northwood Hills Residents’ Association and the Council objected.
However, I am pleased to learn that NHS Property Services have conceded the original agreement and final approval was secured at the Planning Committee.
