The Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla was an incredibly important moment in our history - it was the first for almost 70 years - the last being for Elizabeth II in June 1953 - and the first held on a Saturday since Edward VII in 1902. The ceremony combined the ancient and modern - it was "rooted in longstanding traditions" but also "reflected the monarch's role today and looked towards the future".
It was a fantastic weekend of celebrations, with events taking place up and down the country to mark this historic occasion. Locally, I was pleased to see that the weather didn't stop residents from enjoying the festivities taking place across Ruislip. Northwood and Pinner.
I was pleased to attend the brilliant event organised by the Friends of Pinner Village Gardens and to see the spirit of the Coronation being enjoyed by all in our community.
Nationally, it was a moment of extraordinary national pride. A cherished ritual through which a new era is born.
God Save the King.
